Terms of Use

What TruingLog is. TruingLog, operated by CLEARDEAL LLC, provides educational ballistics calculators, solver-generated charts for factory ammunition, and a browser-based log for your own shooting data. The free calculators are provided for informational and educational use.

Predictions, not measurements

Every trajectory figure on this site is a prediction from the standard G1/G7 drag models and the data entered. Predictions differ from any individual rifle's measured performance. Confirm all data with live fire before relying on it, and never rely on a prediction where an error could cause harm.

No load data

TruingLog publishes no handloading recipes and suggests no charge weights, seating depths, or component combinations. The Kit records data you enter about your own loads; that data is yours, is stored only in your browser, and is never transmitted to us. For load development, use only current published manuals (Hodgdon, Sierra, Hornady, Lyman) and follow their procedures, including starting low and working up.

The Kit

The TruingLog Kit is a one-time purchase processed by Stripe. Purchase delivers access to the Kit page at its private address; keep that address as you would a receipt. Kit data lives in your browser's local storage on your device — clearing browser data deletes it, so use the built-in export regularly. We cannot recover data stored only on your device.

Acceptable use

Do not use this site to facilitate any unlawful activity. Firearms laws vary by jurisdiction; you are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you. Bullet data on this site is transcribed from manufacturers' publications; the underlying published figures belong to their publishers and are presented for reference.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CLEARDEAL LLC is not liable for any damages arising from use of the calculators, charts, or Kit, including reliance on predicted data. Ammunition, reloading, and shooting carry inherent risks that no calculator removes.
